(8 portions)

2 cups (450 g) dry great northern beans, washed well
2½ lbs baby pork ribs
3 medium tomatoes, peeled (or diced canned tomato)
3 medium onions, chopped
5 carrots, cut into bite size
2 celery stalks, cut into bite size
3 cups chicken broth
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp tomato paste
